Anglican Retirement Villages - Case Study
Overview
Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) are one of the largest providers of aged care services in Australia and have been an SPT customer since 2001. ARV has steadily developed and grown since its inception over 44 years ago and now provides a wide choice of accommodation and service options to over 3500 residents and clients. ARV now owns and manages 23 operating facilities and has two major projects under construction, with more in planning and development across the greater Sydney region.
ARV is proactive in researching the needs of older people in order to provide facilities and services to meet their needs and expectations. Whether it be home-based services or larger units with modern design features, security, and a range of activities and amenities provided, ARV actively encourage positive ageing, giving older people and their families the flexibility to make the lifestyle choice that is right for them.
SPT were initially awarded the contract to deliver Private data networking services to all 23 ARV sites in 2004. Working within a tight timeframe and budget, SPT successfully delivered services to all 23 sites.
ARV were the first SPT customer to deploy a truly converged voice and data solution across the SPT MPLS core network. With the speed and performance of the SPT network along with in-built quality of service (QoS) features within the network, ARV's expectations were exceeded with no issues experienced from both a quality of voice service perspective nor any degradation to their data speed or reliability.
ARV is now working with SPT to increase the capacity of its private network to accommodate the rollout of new business applications which will enable organisation wide benefits.
Thrifty Car Rental - Case Study
Overview
Thrifty is one of Australia's largest and most dynamic vehicle rental companies, represented in every state, territory, capital city, regional centre and commercial airport. Thrifty services over 260 locations nationally and provides an additional network of service centres in country and remote areas.
As a first tier vehicle rental company, Thrifty has won widespread recognition for value, quality and service in all major segments of the corporate, business travel, tourism, leisure and local vehicle rental markets.
When Thrifty considered its communications requirements in 2002, it sought a company that could meet the existing needs as well as providing a network that could scale to meet future demands including the consolidation of the voice and data services across a single network platform.
IP communications are surpassing yesterday's phone systems to become the future of business communications. The delivery of both voice and video on the data network enables rich media communications. The Thrifty network deployed by SPT commenced as an internet based VPN and Thrifty is now evaluating voice services.
